Leave EILAT in the morning, cross the Arava border and drive to Petra, through the scenic Jordanian desert, past the Wadi Rum area, where Lawrence of Arabia once lived and fought with the Bedouins.

Arrive at Petra. Enter the Rose City of Petra through the Siq, a narrow passage through the mountains which has amazed everyone for centuries, then up to the treasury which suddenly appears at the end of the gorge, leaving people amazed by it's size, colour and beauty. Then continue into the heart of this ancient City carved out of the mountains, passing hundreds of tombs, monuments and then a spectacular Amphitheater which once held 3,000 people. After your visit to Petra, a stop for a sit-down lunch, followed by a visit to Moses Spring before leaving Wadi Moussa (the new town of Petra).

We drive to Aquaba for a short city tour, return to the Arava border and then back to Eilat.

Day 1

Pick up from hotel and transfer to "Arava" border. Cross the border and drive to Aqaba for a City Tour. Continue to Wadi Rum for a jeep tour in the desert. Lunch

On to Wadi Moussa (Modern Day Petra) for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Petra 1 and 2 Day Tours - What you need to know

Passport and departure paper from Israel needed. Visa, entrance tax and tips - payable in cash only.

In Winter very warm clothing is necessary and in Summer cool comfortable clothing and a covering on your head from the sun.

Good walking shoes are a must. No food or drink is allowed to be taken into Jordan. We supply mineral water locally. Lunch will be late, so please arrange an early breakfast before departure.
